Why The Salvino's Love The Harvest Season!!!

THE SALVINO’S
FALL HARVEST OUTINGS

Most people know that this is my favorite time of year due to the most AWESOME holiday for kids to enjoy. Let me first start with the decorations that I put up in September, a little early I might add. I just could not wait and Frank was just not having it. He was having a fit because the cost of electric. “What is it going to cost me”!! 'Halloween LIGHTS!!! How many light are you going to put up?' 'Whoever heard of such a thing?' It didn’t take much for him to realize that it was for the kids and no matter what he said there was no stopping me. I thought I would nickel and dime when it came to the Mums, WELL THAT WAS A MISTAKE, they bloomed once..,three weeks ago, and now they are just starting to bloom again, but they are only the size of ORANGES. I also managed to save on the cornstalks by taking the kids up to my friend’s farm and cutting them down ourselves, I felt like we were doing something illegal. How fun!!!

VICTOR AT SHARP’S FARM
The Second farm that we went to Wed. Oct. 15th was Sharp’s Farm in Fredrick, Maryland with Victor’s Class. What a fun trip. Victor was so excited that he was riding a bus!!! Victor and I enjoyed a hay ride, got to go through a corm maze, picked out pumpkins and ate a delicious lunch together sitting by a gorgeous pond. What a BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!

ALL THE KIDS AT STANSBURY PARK
On Friday at the end of the week I decided to take all of the kids to Stansbury Park, to ride there bikes. HOLY!!! What an event!! All three boys each had a bike, but the real thrill seeker…..Victor had a little mishap.

When we first got to the park all of the boys headed over to the pond where there is a pier. I told them to park there bikes and wait for me and Gianna. Well my little dare devil Vittorio drove his bike down this little hill into a wall and flipped over the wall into a brier bush. Austin and I were picking out thorns from his face and hand. Victor at this point was laughing; I did manage to take a picture of him in the briers. After walking on the pier and looking at some trout we decided to continue on for some more action to say the least. So we all started on the bike trail around the pond. First, we had to first climb a big hill. Knowing how Vito is, I kept telling him to keeping going straight. When I turned my head Victor turned his bike around at the very top of the hill and head straight down the hill full speed. OMG!!! Victor SMASHED into a parked truck. PLEASE SEE PICTURES!! Luckily Victor was not serious injured; however I can’t say the same about the BRAND NEW truck. Victor held it together like a man until he saw the damage he did to the truck. Vic did not stop crying until he was able to find the owner of the vehicle and apologize for the damage. The man was very forgiving and was thankful that Victor was not hurt worse. Never a dall moment!!

AUSTIN FIRST HAUNTED TRAIL
BALLESTONE-STANSBURY MANSION

On Saturday the 18th I took Austin and his cousin Destiny to his first Hunted trail!! WOW!!! We went to BALLESTONE-STANSBURY MANSION, it was so scary. By the time we had come to the end of the trail Austin practically ran to the truck with his heart beating out of his chest. Austin had to sleep with me Saturday night as he tossed and turned all through the night. He said he liked it, but man was he scared!!

ANDREW'S TRIP TO CLARK'S ELIOAK FARM
On Tuesday, October the 21st we took a trip to Clark’s Elioak Farm in Columbia Maryland. Victor, Gigi, and myself attend this field trip with Andrew and his class. Andrew has been looking forward to his first time riding a bus for a week now. We had a great day. Gianna road a horse for the first time and she went down a huge slide BY HER SELF.

HALLOWEEN PARTY with AUSTIN'S SOCCER TEAM
On Oct. 24th, Friday, I plan to take all of the kids to a Halloween Party. There they will have a Costume Contest, Bob for apples, and Halloween games and prizes.

AUSTIN'S FIELD TRIP TO THE MARYLAND ZOO
On Tursday, October 30th I plan to attend Austin's field trip to the Maryland Zoo with him and his class.

OCTOBER 30th - HALLOWEEN
All of the kids are dressing as ALL the Peter Pan Characters this year; Austin as Peter Pan, Victor as Captain Hook, Andrew as John Darling, Gianna as Tinker Bell, Uncle Perry as Smee, and Myself as a fairy and we are all very excited to go trick-or-treat. We plan to go to Fells Point from 4-8 to tick-or-treat and to attend the Children’s Halloween Costume Contest at 6:00pm. Fells Point does all sorts of great festive things, like Bobbing for apples, ghost stories etc.

If we don’t see you
HAPPY HARVEST SEASON!!!
